2026 Women's European GC Championships  

28 Competitors from 10 nations across Europe played in Carrickmines in the European Golf Croquet Championship a first for Carrickmines.

The Championships commenced on Thursday the hottest day of the year and ran through to Sunday with 3 of the 4 days with glorious weather.

Competitors ranged in age from 19 to their 70’s with high quality play in particular from our Spanish visitors who took 6 of the top 8 places.

Maria Taylor became the first woman to retain their title as European Champion with victory in the final over compatriot Ana Sanchez De Grande.

Ireland’s Jane Morrison finished seventh and Carrickmines member Clair Whyms had a storming giant killing run in the block stages before losing in the Championship knockout to semi-finalist Africa Romera.

Competitors were able to leave their hair down at the Carrickmines Summer Party on Saturday and danced into the night with our tennis friends.
